Blogger Content Policy

So I received an email from Blogger today (which looks pretty legit) reagrding a upcoming change in their policy. I guess there's the potential that Monkeygogo.net will go offline post 23rd March which is a real shame though I'm already looking for an alternative that's going to be okay with adult content

If anyone else is going through similar issues then ping me if you have a solution.

---------------------------------------

Dear Blogger User,

We're writing to tell you about an upcoming change to the Blogger Content Policy that may affect your account.

In the coming weeks, we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video. We'll still allow nudity presented in artistic, educational, documentary or scientific contexts, or where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking action on the content.

The new policy will take effect on 23 March 2015. After this policy comes into force, Google will restrict access to any blog identified as being in violation of our revised policy. No content will be deleted, but only blog authors and those with whom they have expressly shared the blog will be able to see the content that we've made private.

Our records indicate that your account may be affected by this policy change. Please refrain from creating new content that would violate this policy. We would also ask you to make any necessary changes to your existing blog to comply as soon as possible so that you won't experience any interruptions in service. You may also choose to create an archive of your content via Google Takeout (https://www.google.com/settings/takeout/custom/blogger).

For more information, please look here (https://support.google.com/blogger?p=policy_update).

Yours sincerely,

The Blogger Team

I mean its kinda bit open ended, what some people consider sexually explicit is what others may consider to be artistic merit. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit of both.

  1. Seems like there might be a chance to keep your blog if you mark it as private and just share it with your followers. Not sure if this applies to your blog though as that letter is stern. Here is what I read:

In any case, I do hope you keep on posting somewhere and that you let us know where as I am a huge fan of yours!

  2. Currently I am looking for a host site. Most run around $140 USD for three years. You can use a feature through most sites that builds a blog using Wordpress, to import your blog content onto your new site. Adult web site hosters offer this, so I am assuming that Wordpress is okay as long as you own the domain and they are not running the site themselves. Still, I am shaky about using any company that has a no adult content feature in it. That's the only thing holding me back from doing it right now. How long before Wordpress pulls a google?

  5. I think all of your work has significant artistic merit; your talent as an artist really shows. It's different from blogs that just repost amateur porn. That said, it's sometimes easier to go with another hosting solution.
